Creature-Making Workshop for Older Kids, 13-17 - Sunday, November 17, 1:30-3pm
My first-ever kids’ workshop (!), inspired by my dads’ sculptures currently on display at Parlour Gallery. In collaboration with Sara Madandar and Camp X Camp. Each young artist will take home a small “creature” for display at home, complete with a sawtooth-hanger on the back and ready to hang.
The workshop will take place in the gallery displaying Tom’s works— students will literally be surrounded by inspiration. Modular wooden shapes based on Tom’s pieces will be layered together and painted to create mini sculptures. Ambitious students are free to make more than one. What will they see? A face, a body, a dragon, a mystery creature? We can’t wait to find out.
Where: 822 Camp St
When: Sunday, November 17, 1:30-3pm
Age group: 13-17
Note: parents are free to hang out in the front gallery room during the workshop, or leave and pick up their kids at the end. If you have a child a bit younger than the age range listed, please contact me, we might be able to fit them in.
